Together We Read!

Together We Read! is a new summer reading and fundraising event sponsored by the African Library Project. Bringing together youth in North America and Africa, Together We Read! encourages reading while also celebrating literacy and community over a 3-week period in July. Fundraising initial goal $5,000. $10,962 grossed. Total 88 readers and 201 donors. 1,200 total users on event page with 7,588 page views

Roles: Digital marketing lead: Marketing strategy, content creation and management, web design, fundraising and donor outreach, vendor research, email marketing, social media advertising. Managed live interview following Together We Read! that featured two award-winning author duos called Art of Storytelling.

Black and Pink Chicago

Civil Commitment Website Redesign. Black and Pink Chicago is an independent, volunteer-fueled organization working for the abolition of the criminal punishment system, which disproportionately impacts lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex people, as well as those living with HIV.

Roles: Redesigned the WordPress website for nonprofit Black and Pink Chicago for my final capstone as an information student at the University of Washington’s iSchool.
